The Hamas Movement said on Tuesday that the Israeli demolition of Al-Shiyah Mosque in Al-Mukabber town, in Occupied Jerusalem, came as part of the Israeli religious and cultural war against the city of Jerusalem, its landmarks, and its Islamic identity.
Hamas considered the demolition of the Mosque, which has been built for more than twenty years in Occupied Jerusalem, “a new crime committed by the extremist Israeli government against our Palestinian people.”
It pointed out that the Israeli occupation is working to escalate its Judaization plans in Occupied Jerusalem.
The Movement warned of the dangers of the Israeli escalation against Occupied Jerusalem, its landmarks, Mosques and churches, saying that it requires an Arab and Islamic effective intervention to deter the Israeli occupation and protect the Islamic and Christian sanctities, most notably the Aqsa Mosque.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Israeli occupation authorities demolished the Al-Shiyah Mosque in the Jabal al-Mukaber neighborhood east of Occupied Jerusalem, under the pretext of being built without Israeli permit.
