11 Lebanese martyrs in violent Israeli attacks on Beirut, including Dar Al-Amal hospital director

The Israeli army continued its bloody war on Lebanon for the 62nd day, launching dozens of airstrikes and artillery shelling, on various regions of the country alongside a ground incursion into a number of villages in the south amid fierce resistance from Hezbollah.

The Israeli army carried out early Saturday violent raids on the Basta area in the heart of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced the martyrdom of four people and the injury of 23 in the Israeli raid on the Basta area.

Reuters news agency quoted security sources as saying that at least four missiles were fired in an air strike on downtown Beirut, as Israel continued its intensive military campaign against Hezbollah. Eyewitnesses told Reuters that at least one violent explosion was heard in Beirut.

Al-Jadeed TV explained that the Israeli army launched four raids targeting Beirut’s southern suburb in Al-Shayyah and Haret Hreik neighborhoods.

Earlier on Friday, an Israeli raid that targeted Baalbek district in eastern Lebanon killed the director of a private hospital along with six personnel.

The Lebanese News Agency said that an Israeli raid targeted the house of Ali Rakan Allam, the Director of Dar Al-Amal University Hospital, in the town of Doris, in Baalbek district, leading to the martyrdom of Allam along with a number of the staff.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health revealed, in a later statement, that Allam was “martyred with six of the medical personnel.

The Ministry condemned the ongoing Israeli attacks on health workers and facilities in Lebanon, calling them war crimes.
