Hamas Movement said that the Israeli occupation forces’ incursion into the Khalil Awida school in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, and the massacre committed against the displaced persons there, is a continuation of the ethnic cleansing and forced displacement policy occurring in northern Gaza for over two months.
In a statement on Sunday, Hamas added that the Israeli occupation army directly fired at civilians in the school, killing and arresting dozens of displaced individuals, and forcing women and children to flee toward Gaza City under the threat of weapons after subjecting them to abuse.
The Movement called on the international community, the United Nations, and its institutions, especially the UN Security Council, to fulfill their responsibilities and intervene to stop these ongoing violations and massacres in Gaza.
Hamas pointed out that the Israeli government continues to commit crimes in blatant violation of all laws and humanitarian values. It called on the International Criminal Court to execute the arrest warrants against the Israeli war criminals and hold them accountable for their continuous crimes.
This morning, at least 15 Palestinians were martyred, and others were injured due to the Israeli occupation army’s incursion into the Khalil Awida school in Beit Hanoun, which shelters thousands of displaced persons.
Local sources reported that Israeli tanks surrounded the school before the occupation forces stormed it and surprised thousands of displaced individuals inside with artillery shelling and direct gunfire, resulting in the martyrdom of 15 citizens and injuries to many others.
The sources indicated that the occupation army forced displaced women and children to leave the school through a military checkpoint set up on Salah al-Din Street, while detaining men and transferring them to an unknown location, amid beatings, insults, and random gunfire.
For the 72nd consecutive day, northern Gaza is under heavy fire and Israeli starvation, with intense aerial and artillery bombardment, and complete isolation of the northern governorate from Gaza. The occupation army is working to create a buffer security zone in the area by demolishing homes and buildings.
Simultaneously, the occupation forces are forcibly disrupting civil defense operations in northern Gaza and preventing the delivery of humanitarian food and medical aid to the area.
