In the midst of catastrophic humanitarian suffering for more than two million Palestinians — half of them children, the Israeli occupation army continued, for the 437th consecutive day, to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians in the Gaza Strip, especially in the northern areas.
Reporters for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said on Monday that the Israeli occupation army carried out attacks on several homes, civilian targets and shelter centers in different areas of Gaza during the past 24 hours, killing and injuring dozens of citizens.
The Israeli army’s large-scale genocidal campaign in northern Gaza, especially in Jabalia and Beit Lahia, has entered day 73, where its forces continue to intensively bomb homes and shelters and attack civilians while imposing a tight siege on the entire area.
Deliberate Israeli attacks on ambulance and civil defense workers already deprived northern Gaza of any rescue services.
Local sources said that several wounded people arrived at Al-Awda Hospital following an Israeli artillery attack near al-Da’wa Mosque in an-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.
Four people were also martyred when an Israeli warplane bombed a house belonging to the family of Abu Hajar in an-Nuseirat camp.
Several casualties, including four martyrs, were evacuated to Al-Awda Hospital following an Israeli airstrike on a house near al-Qassam cemetery in an-Nuseirat camp.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Khaled Nabhan, the Palestinian man who was known for his heartbreaking farewell to his grandchildren after they were killed last year in an Israeli strike, was martyred today.
Sheikh Nabhan won widespread recognition in November 2032 when his three-year-old granddaughter, Reem, and his five-year-old grandson, Tariq, were killed in an attack in an-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.
Images of Nabhan made headlines at the time as he embraced the lifeless body of his granddaughter, bidding her farewell as he kissed her eyes and stroked her hair and face, calling her the “soul of my soul.”
The grandfather is now reunited with “the soul of his soul” as the Israeli genocide continues to reap more Palestinian lives.
In southern Gaza, the Israeli army opened fire at civilians in the east of Rafah, killing two of them and injuring three others.
10 civilians were also martyred and others were injured when the Israeli army bombed a house belonging to the family of al-Qarim in ash-Shuja’iya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
More casualties were reported in other areas of Gaza following Israeli aerial, artillery and shooting attacks last night and today.
In a related context, the health ministry in Gaza said on Monday that the Israeli army committed seven massacres in different areas of the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours, and killed and injured at least 255 civilians, while a large number of victims are still under the rubble of bombed buildings or lying on roads.
