The Jordanian charity authority announced on Wednesday the beginning of sending ready-made houses to the Gaza Strip, in collaboration with the Jordanian Armed Forces, as part of a series of relief efforts to provide safe shelter for Palestinian families affected by the destruction of homes and infrastructure.
Hussein Al-Shibli, the Secretary-General of the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, said in a statement that this step aims at intensifying humanitarian efforts and providing all possible forms of support to “our brothers in Gaza.”
He added, “Sending ready-made houses is part of our ongoing commitment to support our people in Gaza, as we strive to provide quick and effective solutions to alleviate their suffering. Jordan will always remain at the forefront of countries extending a helping hand to its brethren.”
The authority indicated that sending ready-made houses to Gaza is just a part of an expanded plan aimed at providing more support to the Palestinian people, including reconstruction and enhancing the infrastructure for those affected.
According to the statement, the Jordanian humanitarian corridor—through land and air routes—is one of the most important channels ensuring the rapid and efficient delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip.
Since the onset of the crisis, Jordanian aid convoys have not ceased to head to the Gaza Strip, carrying food supplies, medical necessities, and relief assistance, in addition to field hospitals providing healthcare to the injured and sick under the difficult circumstances they face.
