The Hamas Movement said, “The international community’s observance of the International Women’s Day is an opportunity to expose the Zionist crimes against Palestinian women across our occupied territories.”
“As the world honors Women’s Day, Palestinian women in all Palestinian territories endure unimaginable suffering due to Israeli relentless bombing, brutal daily massacres, deportation and forced displacement, arrest, and deprivation of basic human rights,” it added.
In a press release marking the Women’s Day, Hamas stated that the killing of over 12,000 Palestinian women, the wounding and detention of thousands more, and the repeated forced displacement of hundreds of thousands during the genocide in the Gaza Strip represent a shameful stain on humanity, as well as on all those complicit, silent, or negligent in stopping and condemning these crimes.
Hamas pointed to the psychological and physical torture the Palestinian detained women are exposed to in Israeli occupation prisons, in a flagrant violation of all international laws and conventions, which reveals the double standards pursued by the US administration and some Western countries in dealing with the issue of the Palestinian prisoners.
The Movement hailed the role of women in the Palestinian people’s struggle, saluted their steadfastness, and called for their protection from Israeli occupation’s crimes and aggression.
