Israeli warplanes conducted on Monday evening airstrikes targeting Syrian army weapons, tanks, and military equipment in the southern Daraa governorate.
According to Aljazeera channel, Israeli warplanes hit the artillery battalion of the 89th Regiment in the town of Jbab and weapons depots in the 12th Brigade in the city of Izra in Daraa countryside.
Israeli channel 14 reported that Israeli fighter jets bombed surveillance platforms and Syrian army tanks, north of Daraa.
The Syrian army has yet to issue an official statement on the Israeli raids and estimates of material or human damage.
Since the fall of the deposed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on December 8, Israel has launched hundreds of raids on military sites across the country.
Israeli occupation forces have since then been carrying out several incursions into the governorates of Quneitra and Daraa in southern Syria. Taking advantage of the Assad regime’s collapse, Israel occupied the buffer zone and expanded into its vicinity and scrapped the 1974 border agreement with Syria.
