Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on various sites in the central Syrian province of Homs, targeting army fortifications in the villages of Shanshar and Shamsin, south of Homs City.
According to Reuters, the Israeli occupation army has not yet issued comments on Tuesday’s strikes. However, it has previously announced launching similar attacks that it said targeted military headquarters and military storage facilities.
Israel has carried out extensive airstrikes on Syrian military bases since the ouster of former President Bashar al-Assad, and has also occupied the UN-monitored demilitarized zone inside Syria.
An airstrike targeting the perimeter of Daraa governorate last Monday killed three civilians and injured 19 others.
Israel has occupied most of the Syrian Golan Heights since 1967, and has taken advantage of the new situation in Syria after the fall of the Assad regime, occupying the Syrian buffer zone and declaring the collapse of the 1974 disengagement agreement with Syria.
