Israeli occupation forces have continued their renewed offensive on the Gaza Strip for the eleventh consecutive day, carrying out further airstrikes in what has been described as a brutal escalation of killings and acts of collective punishment.
According to medical sources, several Palestinian civilians have been killed in the ongoing air raids launched by Israeli forces since the early hours of Thursday morning.
Intensified Israeli fire was reported in the eastern areas of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Yunis, and Izbat Abed Rabbo, east of Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, Israeli artillery also targeted the Jabal al-Sourani area, east of al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City.
Two Palestinians, Alaa Mustafa Abu Shalouf and Asid Abdulqader Abu Shalouf, were killed and others injured in a drone strike on a group of civilians in the Shouka area, east of Rafah.
In al-Zaytoun neighborhood, located in eastern Gaza City, three more civilians were killed and others injured following an Israeli airstrike on a residential home.
Additional injuries were reported after an airstrike hit a house in Bani Suheila, east of Khan Yunis, further illustrating the indiscriminate nature of the ongoing attacks.
Meanwhile, the World Central Kitchen (WCK) said Israeli strikes near a community kitchen in Gaza on Thursday killed one of its volunteers and injured six others “as meals were being distributed.”
“Our hearts are heavy today as we mourn the loss of one of our volunteers in Gaza,” WCK said in a statement.
In April 2024, a series of Israeli military strikes killed seven WCK staffers in Gaza, drawing international condemnation.
The continued targeting of residential areas and civilians comes amid growing international concern over the scale of destruction and loss of life, as Israel’s bombardment of Gaza persists without accountability.
Rights groups have reiterated that indiscriminate attacks on populated areas constitute serious violations of international humanitarian law, calling for urgent protection for civilians and immediate international action to halt the bloodshed.
