The Israeli occupation army dispatched more reinforcements to Tulkarem City and its refugee camps of Tulkarem and Nur Shams during the past hours, where a destruction and displacement campaign has been ongoing for several weeks.
As of Sunday, the Israeli army’s violent and destructive operations in the northern West Bank entered day 70 in both Tulkarem City and Tulkarem refugee camp and day 57 in Nur Shams refugee camp.
Israeli forces reportedly continued last night and today to raid and destroy homes in different neighborhoods of Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps, and use some of them as military posts.
Tulkarem residents reported hearing sounds of explosions and gunfire echoing through both camps last night.
According to local sources, the Israeli army has already turned Tulkarem camp into a ghost town after forcibly displacing its residents, with the camp’s homes, facilities, and infrastructure severely ravaged or completely destroyed.
The sources said that Israeli troops aboard military vehicles patrolled today Tulkarem City’s streets, set up makeshift checkpoints on different roads, stopped cars for extended periods, and conducted searches while interrogating passengers.
