Twenty-three Palestinian students were injured on Tuesday during an Israeli army raid on the Al-Quds University campus in the town of Abu Dis, east of occupied Jerusalem.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that its crews “treated 23 injuries during the Israeli army’s raid on the Al-Quds University campus in the town of Abu Dis.”
It added that among these injuries were 22 cases of suffocation due to tear gas inhalation, and one person suffered burns and was treated in the field.
Eyewitnesses reported that an Israeli force stormed the Al-Quds University campus and fired tear gas canisters. Video footage showed the raid and the firing of tear gas canisters.
This comes as the occupation continues its aggression against refugee camps, towns, and cities in the northern West Bank since January 21.
Since the start of its war of extermination on the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation army and settlers have escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, resulting in the death of more than 946 Palestinians, the injury of nearly 7,000, and the arrest of 15,800, according to official Palestinian figures.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with absolute US support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, leaving more than 166,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
