The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) blew up a house in the center of Jenin refugee camp on Tuesday evening as part of a widening military offensive on the city and camp, now entering its 78th consecutive day.

Thick plumes of smoke rose from the area following the massive explosion, which was heard throughout the camp. Meanwhile, Israeli forces fired tear gas grenades in the Wadi Burqin area west of Jenin.

The death toll in Jenin has reached 38 martyrs, including two killed by Palestinian Authority security forces.

The ongoing Israeli assault has caused widespread destruction, including bulldozing and burning homes and properties, as well as destroying main roads and infrastructure.

The humanitarian situation has deteriorated sharply for more than 21,000 displaced residents, many of whom have lost their homes, jobs, and sources of income amid the continued siege on Jenin.

The IOF troops have completely demolished around 600 homes in Jenin camp, and 3,250 housing units are now uninhabitable due to destruction and fire damage. The city’s infrastructure and roads have also suffered extensive damage.

Meanwhile, Palestinian Authority forces continue to arrest dozens of residents, including An-Najah University student Ahmad Abdul Salam Ubaid, Hussam Azouqa, and Qusay Amour, despite his deteriorating health condition.

The Jenin Media Committee has warned of escalating coordination between the Palestinian Authority and the Israeli occupation, describing it as part of a strategy to impose a new reality on the camp, facilitating the occupation’s dangerous plans in Jenin.
