A senior-level delegation of the Hamas Movement, led by Khalil Al-Hayya, arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Saturday evening to discuss ceasefire in Gaza.
A Hamas statement said that the visit came at the invitation of Egyptian officials and that consultations would be held with Egyptian and Qatari mediators in line with efforts “to follow up on ceasefire talks and ending the Israeli aggression on our people.”
Hamas affirmed that it deals positively with all proposals to reach a permanent ceasefire in Gaza Strip, ensure full withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from the enclave, ending the people’s suffering and exchange prisoners.
