The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) continued, for the 85th consecutive day, their military operation in Jenin City and its refugee camp on Tuesday, amid ongoing raids and destruction.
The media committee in Jenin refugee camp said that Israeli forces stormed on Monday the Jenin Hospital, detained one of its employees and kidnaped a child outside it, causing widespread panic among patients and citizens.
The media committee added that the Israeli occupation army sent more troops to Jenin camp and other areas near Jenin on Tuesday morning.
The Israeli army also continued to bulldoze and destroy public and private property in Jenin City and its refugee camp, displace more families, and use homes as military barracks.
According to the media committee, the Israeli army have destroyed about 600 homes completely and rendered 3,000 others uninhabitable since it started its operation in Jenin camp.
The committee highlighted that the Israeli military operation and its subsequent violations severely impacted the economic conditions of Jenin’s residents, leaving thousands of displaced citizens without their means of livelihood.
This dire economic situation significantly contributed to the rise in poverty rates within the Jenin community and further exacerbated the ongoing humanitarian suffering of the local residents, the committee added.
The number of displaced citizens from Jenin camp has surged to 21,000 people. 38 people had also been killed since the Israeli army started its operation in Jenin and its refugee camp, according to the committee.
