The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stressed the urgent need to reopen the Gaza crossings to allow an unimpeded flow of aid, calling for immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

UNRWA said that two million Palestinians in Gaza are besieged, bombed and starved again as a result of the Israeli closure of the Gaza Strip crossings for the seventh consecutive week.

In a statement published on Saturday, UNRWA added that Gazans are besieged, bombed and starved while temporary supplies of food, medicine, fuel and shelter are piling up at Gaza’s crossings.

The Israeli occupation forces are closing Gaza’s crossings for the seventh consecutive week and preventing the entry of “humanitarian aid, medical and commercial supplies, food, child vaccines, and fuel into Gaza, it stated.

Two million people in Gaza are facing a new wave of hunger since Israel closed the crossings on March 2, at a time when they have not yet recovered from the effects of the previous wave, which was caused by Israel’s policy of rationing food and relief aid to the Gaza Strip during the 18 months of genocide.
