The Hamas Movement said the recent statement of a number of Israeli ministers, in which they called for imposing “Israeli sovereignty” on the occupied West Bank, represent an extension of aggressive colonialist policies and a desperate attempt to liquidate the Palestinian cause by plundering the land and stealing it from its indigenous owners.
On Sunday, four Israeli ministers called for the annexation of the occupied West Bank.
During their participation in the inauguration of a settlement neighborhood in the Har Brakha settlement in the West Bank, four Israeli ministers called for the annexation of the occupied West Bank: Army Minister Israel Katz, Settlement Minister Orit Strook, Justice Minister Yariv Levin and Negev and Galilee Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf, urging for imposing Israeli sovereignty on and expanding settlement in the West Bank.
“Settlement is Israel’s defense line,” Katz said.
In a statement on Monday, Hamas stressed that “these statements, which reflect the colonialist and fascist mentality governing the occupation regime and constitute a flagrant violation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy, put the responsibility on international community, the UN and its institutions to take immediate action to hold the occupation accountable and stop its criminal expansionist policies against our people, land and holy sites.”
Hamas called on the Palestinian masses to escalate resistance, continue the uprising and clash with the occupation forces and settlers, until defeat of occupation and its Judaization schemes.
