A group of Jewish settlers, accompanied by Israeli police forces, stormed Thursday morning the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in the city of occupied Jerusalem.
Jerusalemite sources reported that settlers performed Talmudic rituals and performed full prostrations during the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Al-Maghariba Gate, under the watchful eye of police forces securing their storming.
Jewish settlers distributed Israeli flags and clothing to the intruders to celebrate the so-called “Independence Day,” and the declaration of “the establishment of the Israeli state” on the Palestinian land in an attempt to consolidate a fait accompli at Al-Aqsa.
On Wednesday, occupation police forces imposed intensive security measures, prevented the entry of worshippers into the Mosque, and confiscated the ID cards of some of them at the gates of the Mosque and the Old City of Jerusalem.
In response, Palestinians continue to call for mobilization and solidarity to confront the occupation police and settlers’ plans to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque and replace it with the so-called “Temple of Solomon.”
