Islamic Awqaf guards frustrated an attempt by extremist Jewish settlers to slaughter a sacrificial goat in the courtyards of the Aqsa Mosque compound on Sunday afternoon.
According to local sources, settlers defiled the Aqsa Mosque through its al-Ghawanmeh Gate while one of them was carrying a baby goat in a shopping bag before guards of the holy site chased them and foiled their attempt to slaughter it.
The settler attempt to sacrifice the goat at the Aqsa Mosque coincided with the Jewish holiday of Pessah Sheni (Second Passover), which is marked one month after the Passover holiday.
