10 Palestinians injured as IOF quells march in southern Nablus

At least 10 Palestinian citizens were injured by rubber bullets on Monday evening when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked a march in southern Nablus staged in solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

The participants in the march carried Palestinian flags and chanted slogans hailing the prisoners’ steadfastness in the face of recent punitive measures taken against them.

According to local sources the participants in the march walked towards Huwara checkpoint in southern Nablus when the IOF started attacking them.

Consequently 10 citizens including a journalist and a woman suffered from rubber bullet injuries and two of them were rushed to a local hospital. Many others also suffered from their exposure to tear gas.

Meanwhile violent clashes broke out on the same day between Palestinian youths and Israeli forces at the Jalamah checkpoint in western Jenin.

Local sources said that dozens of young men blocked the main road leading to the checkpoint with burning tires rocks and other obstacles and embarked on hurling stones at the soldiers.
