The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah announced on Wednesday that 13 deaths 2288 new cases of the coronavirus and 1839 recoveries were recorded during the past 24 hours.
Mai Al-Kailah the Palestinian Minister of Health confirmed in the daily epidemiological report of coronavirus that 12 deaths and 1227 infections were recorded in the West Bank while one death and 1061 new cases were recorded in the Gaza Strip.
She said that the recovery rate of the coronavirus reached 89.7 percent while the rate of active infections reached 9.2 percent and the death rate was 1.1% of all infections.
The minister pointed out that there are 209 critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units including 68 who have been placed on ventilators.
Meanwhile Kailah added in a radio interview that there has been a slight decrease in the number of coronavirus deaths.
She underlined that the occupancy rate of hospital beds has decreased compared to the previous period which is a good indicator in the epidemiological situation.
Regarding the corona vaccine Kailah noted that 100 thousand doses of the vaccine have arrived as a donation from China as well as 25 thousand new doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine which is the first batch of the 2 million doses bought by the Palestinian government.
