Thursday 26-August-2021

At least 14 Palestinian protesters were injured and others suffered from their exposure to tear gas on Wednesday evening when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked their rally in the east of Khan Yunis south of the Gaza Strip.

A reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the IOF fired live and rubber bullets and tear gas canisters at dozens of protesters who rallied near the border fence.

According to the health ministry in Gaza five citizens were injured by live ammunition two others by rubber-coated metal bullets and seven were hit by tear gas grenades.

Dozens also suffered from inhaling tear gas after the IOF used a drone to shower them with gas canisters. They received on-site medical assistance.

In an area not far from the border fence where the clashes took place thousands of Palestinians participated in a popular and oratorical gathering organized by major Palestinian factions in the east of Khan Yunis.
