154 Palestinians injured in anti-settlement weekly marches

Saturday 18-December-2021

154 Palestinians were injured during the anti-settlement weekly marches that swept larges areas in the occupied West Bank on Friday.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society affirmed in a statement that its crews treated 154 injuries in the towns of Beita Beit Dajan and Barqa in Nablus and Kafr Qaddoum area in Qalqilya.

A Red Crescent ambulance was hit by a gas bomb during the clashes the statement said.

Large marches were organized in Beita and Beit Dajan towns south and east of Nablus in protest against Israeli settlement construction.

Clashes also erupted in Kafr Qaddum area after the IOF brutally suppressed the anti-settlement march.

The IOF soldiers heavily fired rubber bullets and tear-gas bombs at the participants injuring dozens of them.

Earlier Thursday Palestinian activists called for mass participation in the weekly anti-settlement marches in protest against Jewish settlers’ attacks on Palestinian towns and villages.

Recent months have seen a steep rise in violence committed by settlers in the West Bank against Palestinians including against farmers harvesting their olive trees.

Israeli forces do not intervene to stop the attacks in most cases and often actively join in.
