At least 157 Israeli fanatic settlers on Thursday morning stormed the holy al-Aqsa Mosque via the Maghareba Gate.
The break-in was carried out under a tight shield by the Israeli special units and rapid intervention cops who cordoned off the plazas of the Mosque so as to set the stage for the break-in.
The occupation police closed the Maghareba Gate after 119 settlers 36 students and two intelligence officers broke into the site.
The Israeli fanatics performed provocative rituals while the peaceful Muslim worshipers kept chanting “Allahu Akbar” (Allah is the Greatest) in protest at the sacrilegious assault.
At the same time a number of Muslim women are still prohibited from entering the holy site to perform their prayers due to a ban slapped by the Israeli occupation authorities a few months earlier.
