17 Palestinian councils of 15 villages and 2 towns along with 3 human rights organizations Adalah Center Jerusalem Legal Aid and Human Rights Center and al-Mizan Center for Human Rights filed a petition with the Israeli Supreme Court demanding the cancellation of Israel’s new annexation law.
The petition against the so-called regulation bill which was passed by Israeli Knesset and which legalizes land grabs and settlement expansion in the West Bank was filed based on the fact that the bill is unconstitutional and runs contrary to the International Humanitarian Law.
Adalah Center underlined in a statement on Thursday that the new Israeli law is a blatant violation of Palestinians’ right to property ownership in the West Bank since it legalizes the theft of Palestinian land based on ethno-ideological vision. It lies within banned crimes the statement highlighted.
