The Palestinian health ministry on Wednesday reported 18 new deaths associated with COVID-19 (coronavirus) 1091 new positive tests and 1718 recoveries in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip during the last 24 hours.
According to the ministry’s daily report eight of the victims who died of the virus are from the West Bank and 10 others from Gaza.
Moreover 80 critically ill COVID-19 patients are being treated in intensive care units and 19 of them have been placed on ventilators.
An additional 185 patients are also receiving medical care in hospitals and special COVID-19 treatment centers in the West Bank.
93.7 percent of the total cases have recovered from the disease while the rate of active cases has reached 5.3 percent and the rate of deaths is 1.0 percent of the total cases according to data updated today by the ministry.
