OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– Israeli authorities handed over late yesterday the bodies of two slain Palestinians that were held since October 2015 amid very tight security restrictions.

The bodies of Hassan Manasra 15 and Alaa Abu Jamal 32 have been handed over to their families for immediate burial after being withheld for seven months Quds Press said.

Israeli policemen deployed in large numbers near the al-Asbat gate cemetery and only allowed 40 people of Manasra family to attend the funeral.

Manasra family said that his body was in “very difficult situation” without revealing more details.

Meanwhile Abu Jamal’s body was buried at 2 a.m. at the Jabal al-Mukabbir cemetery amid large presence of Israeli policemen with only 40 people of his family allowed to attend the funeral.

Verbal altercations were reported near the cemetery between Israeli policemen and local youths who tried to attend the funeral before being evacuated.

The families of Manasra and Abu Jamal have been asked to pay deposits of 20000 shekels ($5176.65) and 40000 shekels ($10353.30) respectively to ensure their compliance with Israeli conditions.

Hassan Manasra was shot dead on October 12 2015 by Israeli soldiers after allegedly carrying out a stabbing attack in the illegal settlement of Pisgat Zeev in occupied Jerusalem.

Abu Jamal was killed by Israeli police on October 13 2015 after he allegedly rammed his car into a bus stop in occupied Jerusalem.

Israel currently holds the bodies of at least ten Palestinians killed by Israeli forces since October while they were allegedly committing or attempting to commit anti-occupation attacks.
