Thousands of Palestinians attended the Friday prayer at the holy Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem despite Israeli occupation’s restrictions and roadblocks at the Mosque’s gates and in the Old City.
The Islamic Awkaf authority said that 20000 worshipers attended the Friday Khutba (sermon) amid strict adherence to health precautions including wearing masks and maintaining distances.
The Aqsa preacher Sheikh Mohammed Salim affirmed in his Khutba the importance of preserving the national Palestinian identity and not to imitate alien traditions.
He lashed out at in this regard at the new personal status law tabled by the Palestinian Authority adding that laws are legislated by the parliament and not the government.
The Sheikh concluded his sermon by pointing to the importance of abiding by health awareness and precautions to fight the Corona virus.
