200 trees uprooted by Israeli army in west of Salfit

Israeli bulldozers uprooted on Saturday 200 trees in the town of Bidya west of Salfit. The uprooted trees vary between olives figs grapes peaches lemons and fruit and perennial almonds.

The owner of the trees Salim Khalil said that the land is the only source of income for his family. He pointed out that a number of those trees are up to 20 years old.

The Israeli occupation forces had uprooted more than 200 olive trees in the town of Derastia northwest of Salfit two months ago.

Meanwhile Jewish settlers began razing and vandalizing farmers’ lands two days ago in Khillet Alayyan and Khillet Hassan in Bidya town under the protection of the IOF soldiers.

Local sources reported that settlers uprooted olive fig and grape trees removed stone chains demolished agricultural rooms and caused great damage to the area.

The Israeli occupation authorities expand the Jewish-only settlements and connect them to a water electricity and sewage networks to form a settlement bloc that controls an area of up to 70% of Salfit’s lands.
