213 Palestinian prisoners die in Israeli jails

More than 200 Palestinians have lost their lives in Israeli prisons since 1967 as a result of torture lack of medical care and gunshot wounds rights sources announced on Wednesday

Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-prisoners’ Committee said that 213 Palestinians were died in the Israeli prisons since 1967.

Among them seven were shot during Jerusalem Intifada that kicked off in October 2015 72 others were tortured to death and 59 lost their lives due to lack of medical care.

Seven other prisoners were shot inside Israeli detention centers while 75 others were delibretly murdered most recently was Yassin a-Saradih.

The committee also highlighted that hundreds of prisoners died shortly after being released from Israeli custody.

The committee official Abdul Nasser Farwana urged the international human rights groups to act immediately to protect thousands of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.

According to Palestinian statistics some 7000 Palestinians are currently being held in Israeli prisons including roughly 500 in administrative detention.
