Mai Al-Kailah the Palestinian Minister of Health announced on Friday that 27 deaths 1780 new cases of the coronavirus and 1695 recoveries were recorded during the past 24 hours.
Kailah confirmed in the daily epidemiological report of coronavirus that 23 deaths were recorded in the West Bank and 4 deaths in the Gaza Strip.
She said the new infections were distributed as follows: Jerusalem suburbs 53 Qalqilya 88 Nablus 269 Tulkaerm 134 Bethlehem 90 al-Khalil 194 Jenin 166 Tubas 38 Jericho and Al-Aghwar 13 Ramallah and Al-Bireh 160 Salfit 26 the Gaza Strip 248 and Jerusalem 301.
The new recovery cases were recorded according to the following: Jerusalem suburbs 90 Qalqilya 0 Nablus 208 Tulkarem 64 Bethlehem 131 al-Khalil 154 Jenin 112 Tubas 4 Jericho and Al-Aghwar 36 Ramallah and Al-Bireh 330 Salfit 73 the Gaza Strip 104 and Jerusalem 389 the minister added.
Kailah pointed out that there are 192 critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units including 60 who have been placed on ventilators.
She noted that the recovery rate of coronavirus reached 89.3 percent while the rate of active infections reached 9.6 percent and the death rate was 1.1% of all infections.
Meanwhile Kamal Al-Shakhra the spokesman for the Palestinian Ministry of Health warned that the epidemiological situation in Palestine is still dangerous and the coronavirus is widespread.
Shakhra during a radio interview called on the Palestinians on Saturday to adhere to preventive measures in the context of the continuing high number of infections and the high occupancy rates in hospitals.
Regarding the launch of the vaccination campaign against corona he explained that the campaign will start tomorrow from Ramallah and it will be in all provinces.
The corona vaccine will be given to medical teams in government and private hospitals in addition to people with chronic diseases and those over 75 years of age as a first stage Shakhra underlined.
