28 Palestinians jailed in Israel for 25 years

28 Palestinian prisoners remained incarcerated in Israeli prisons for more than 25 years amid very poor detention conditions the Palestinian Prisoners’ Commission said on Monday.

Among them 13 are from inside Israel and they include Karim Younis the longest serving political prisoner with over 30 years Maher Younis Ibrahim Abu Mukh Rushdi Abu Mukh Walid Daqqa Ibrahim Bayadseh Ahmad Abu Jaber Bashir Khatib Samir Sarsawi Ibrahim Ighbarieh Mohammad Ighbarieh Yehys Ighbarieh and Mohammad Jabarin.

Those prisoners are subjected to a systematic racist policy as they are Palestinians and holders of Israeli ID in the meantime the commission underlined.

Earlier Sunday Palestinian prisoner Mahmoud Jabbarin 55 was released after spending 30 years in Israeli jails.

Jabbarin who was considered one of the most prominent doyens of the Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails had been arrested on October 8 1988 and then sentenced to 30 years in jail on charges of his ties with resistance groups and carrying out military operations against Israeli targets.

The prisoner was barred from bidding farewell to his mother who passed away last November 2017 or even phoning her during her illness.
