35 Palestinian children were shot and kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in 2016 head of the prisoners’ and ex-prisoners’ committee Issa Qaraqe said Saturday.
According to Qaraqe 35 Palestinian children were kidnapped after they were shot and injured by the IOF last year.
Most of the injured children were reportedly subjected to mistreatment and medical neglect by the occupation authorities. Others faced blackmailing and torture by the IOF in order to force confession.
“Most of those kidnapped were subjected to exhaustive field questioning while they were bleeding before they were transferred to hospitals handcuffed” stated Qaraqe.
The Palestinian minister also said that a number of children have been in critical conditions and that one of them got his leg amputated due to an IOF-inflicted injury.
He added that the injured children were sent to prison before they recovered from their wounds.
At least 360 Palestinian children including 13 girls are held in Israeli lock-ups.
