American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) and the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) are making preparations to hold the third annual “Palestine Advocacy Day” on Capitol Hill (the US Congress) in Washington on Monday May 1st.
The event aims to urge members of the Congress to adopt more just and fair approaches towards the Palestinian cause according to its organizers.
“When we launched this event for the first time in 2015 we at the American Muslims for Palestine made our history when we brought Palestine as Americans to the Congress which is considered Israel’s most powerful fortress in the US” renowned Arab researcher Osama Abu Arshaid a prominent participant and an AMP member stated on his Facebook page last Friday.
“Our work for Palestine in America is in America and does not adopt the East’s approach on a foreign land. We should not leave the arena empty to one side and then embark on cursing the bias while doing nothing to balance it” Abu Arshaid added.
He noted that an AMP team would meet with a senior official from the US department of state.
Scores of multinational participants Muslims Jews and Christians who advocate the Palestinian cause are expected flock to Washington on Monday to participate in the Palestine Advocacy Day.”
