Israeli policemen on Monday morning escorted 53 Israeli settlers as they defiled holy al-Aqsa Mosque the third holiest site in Islam in Occupied Jerusalem.
A guard at al-Aqsa told the PIC the Israeli forces unlocked the Maghareba Gate and cordoned off the plazas of the Mosque shortly before 53 Israeli settlers broke into the site. Israeli cops closed al-Maghareba Gate moments after the break-in.
According to the guard 13 Israeli intelligence officers along with members of Israel’s Antiquity Authority also stormed al-Aqsa Mosque as part of the morning break-in shift.
At the same time the Israeli municipality has been gearing up to hold a Jewish festival in the plaza of the Umayyad Palaces adjacent to al-Aqsa’s southern wall.
