The Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees has affirmed that there are 56 Palestinian women in the Israeli jails of Damon and Hasharon including six minors and eight with injuries.
Those female detainees suffer from many arbitrary measures and are exposed to maltreatment at the hands of Israeli jailers According to lawyers Hanan al-Khatib and Hiba Masalha who work for the commission.
The lawyers listened to complaints from those detainees during recent visits to the prisons especially with regard to their exposure to harsh and inhumane treatment by prison soldiers and harassment by Israeli criminal prisoners during their transfer to transit detention facilities and later to courts.
Several ill and wounded detainees also complained they were medically neglected and deprived of seeing their families and children.
The detainees appealed to the lawyers to file complaints on their behalf with the Israeli prison service in this regard and work on having their incarceration conditions improved.
