Six Palestinian journalists have been on an open-ended hunger strike for the fourth day running in protest at their arbitrary detention in Palestinian Authority (PA) jails.
In a Sunday statement Hamas said journalists Thaer al-Fakhouri Amer Abu Arafa Islam Salem Quteiba Qasem Tareq Abu Zeid and Mamdouh Hamamra continue their hunger strike in response to their illegal detention.
At the same time 11 Palestinians were arrested by the PA forces among them ex-prisoners and academics.
Palestinian ex-prisoner Ahmed Jibrin along with Issa Jibrin and Mohamed Jibrin have been held in PA detention centers in Bethlehem for the 10th consecutive day.
University student Mus’ab Mer’i has also been locked up in a PA penitentiary in Nablus for the seventh day.
A couple of days earlier Palestinian student Suhaieb Amr was arrested by the PA Preventive Forces in the southern occupied West Bank province of al-Khalil after he was summoned to questioning.
