Israeli police on Sunday morning closed al-Maghareba Gate which has been under Israeli control since 1967 after 60 Israeli settlers broke into al-Aqsa Mosque.
Quds Press said that dozens of Israeli settlers stormed al-Aqsa Mosque in several groups and received presentations on the alleged “Temple Mount” during the tour.
It added that Israeli police forces escorted the settlers until they left the site through al-Silsila Gate.
The news agency explained that 58 Israeli settlers and two employees from Israel Antiquities Authority forced their way into al-Aqsa Mosque during the morning round of settler break-ins.
Settler break-ins into al-Aqsa Mosque are carried out in coordination with the police on a daily basis except Friday and Saturday in two rounds: the morning and the afternoon.
