NAZARETH (PIC)– At least 66 IOF soldiers were injured on Tuesday when two Palestinian resistance missiles blasted in their army base in Ashkelon city occupied since 1948 Israeli medical sources reported.
According to Israeli medical sources more than 20 ambulances rushed to the scene and carried the casualties to hospitals in the cities of Ashkelon and Beersheba pointing out that 35 Israeli soldiers at least sustained minor and medium shrapnel injuries because one of the rockets fell down on the tents they were sleeping in.
Annasser Salahuddin Brigades the armed wing of the popular resistance committees adopted the firing of two homemade upgraded rockets at an early hour Tuesday on the Zakkim military base inflicting different injuries amongst the 66 IOF officers and soldiers.
In a communiqué the Brigades confirmed that this operation comes in retaliation to the Israeli massacres perpetrated against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank and within its adherence to the option of resistance as the optimal way to liberate the usurped Palestinian land.
In an earlier interview conducted by the Qassam website Abu Ubaida the spokesman for the Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas addressed the IOF troops saying: “The rules of the game have changed and the Zionist enemy must pay the price in the event of any aggression against the Palestinian people; in addition the IOF troops should be ready for the coming stage of resistance which will inflict material moral and even human losses.”
In the context of retaliation to the Israeli crimes in Gaza and the West Bank the Qassam fighters fired on Tuesday morning eight mortar shells on the Karam Abu Salem Israeli military outpost adjacent to the Gaza Strip.
The same armed wing also managed at dawn Tuesday to fire five mortar shells on a gathering of Israeli military armored vehicles near the Gaza airport in Rafah to the south of the Gaza Strip.
For its part Hebrew Radio quoted Israeli military sources as saying that a Palestinian homemade rocket has been fired from Gaza on Tuesday morning on the western Negev area to the south of Palestinian lands occupied in 1948 inflicting damage on a number of Israeli buildings.
