Seven Palestinian prisoners have been on hunger strike in Israeli jails in protest at their administrative detention.
The Palestinian Prisoner Society said that Ja’far Izz el-Din 48 has been on hunger strike for 26 days and on Sunday he was transferred from Megiddo prison to the Ramla prison clinic after his health worsened.
Ahmad Zahran 42 started an open hunger strike 19 days ago protesting his detention without charge or trial.
Mohammed Abu Akar 24 Mustafa al-Hasanat 21 and Huthaifa Halabiya 28 have been on hunger strike for 11 days for the same reason. All of them had served different sentences in Israeli jails before being detained again without charge or trial.
The detainees Hasan al-Zaghari 23 and Munir Zahran 31 have recently started an open-ended hunger strike after their administration detention sentences were extended for no apparent reason.
