7 Palestinians killed in a bloody night of IOF raids

Sunday 1-July-2007

GAZA (PIC)– A series of IOF air raids on the Gaza Strip on Saturday killed seven Palestinians including a father and his son while 15 others were wounded.

Israeli F-16 warplanes blasted a foundry in central Gaza Strip with two missiles that killed three citizens including a father (the owner of the workshop) and his son two of whom were identified as members of the AMB-Ayman Jouda one of the armed wings of the Fatah faction while three others were wounded.

A fourth Palestinian was later proclaimed dead in the same raid medical sources said.

The Israeli warplanes later in the night returned and fired two missiles at the same foundry wounding five civilians one of whom was in critical condition.

Eyewitnesses said that the Israeli bombardment destroyed the workshop and started fires adding that bodies of the martyrs were burnt in the blast.

The IOF warplanes had earlier on Saturday fired a missile at a civilian car in Khan Younis killing all three on board who turned out to be prominent members of the Quds Brigades the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement.

Paramedics said that the charred remains of the three activists were beyond recognition adding that it took them a while to identify them.

IOF military sources acknowledged the raids telling the Hebrew radio that the first one which killed three operatives targeted the assassination of Ziad Ghannam one of the most prominent field commanders of the Quds Brigades in southern Gaza. They claimed that the three were planning a human bombing attack in the Israeli depth.

The broadcast said that Ghannam had a long record of attacks on occupation troops while a second one Mohammed Al-Ra’ee had fired an RPG at an IOF armored vehicle killing six soldiers.
