RAMALLAH (PIC)– A senior leader of the Fatah movement said that the Israeli side disappointed the Palestinian and the Jordanian leadership during their meeting which was held in the Jordanian capital Amman on Tuesday and said that popular resistance will “break out soon”.
Member of the Fatah central committee Mahmoud al-Aloul on Wednesday told hundreds of Fatah supporters in Ramallah that “the Palestinian leadership missed no opportunity to pursue peace and positively responded to each initiative but all these efforts were in vain.”
A meeting was held on Tuesday between the PA and the Israeli occupation in Amman in the presence of international quartet representatives and the Jordanian Foreign Minister in an attempt to “re-launch the peace process.”
Aloul who was speaking on behalf of the PA President Mahmoud Abbas said: “We responded to the call of our brothers in Jordan but the Israelis disappointed us and the Jordanians; as the Israeli side came without any new ideas and showed no inclination to reach a settlement.”
Aloul expressed hope that the new year will witness the launch of popular resistance to occupation to challenge the daily breaches of the Israeli occupation.
He also said that the PA can no longer ask Palestinian farmers and young men to exercise self-restraint in the face settlement activities expecting that popular resistance will breakout soon.
