OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– The Aqsa Foundation Tuesday warned of a Zionist scheme that is being implemented on stages to divide the Aqsa Mosque between Muslims and Jews.
The AF disclosed in a statement that the scheme includes the construction of a Jewish synagogue on the ruins of the Islamic court building located at the western wall of the Aqsa Mosque.
It demanded swift Arab action to halt implementation of the scheme part of which is the current excavation at the Magharba gate.
The statement pointed to a detailed report published by the Hebrew daily ‘Ha’aretz’ on such a plan to control part of the Aqsa Mosque and the area near it to build a Jewish synagogue.
The AF further charged that Israel was planning to dig a tunnel from Silwan to an area under the Aqsa Mosque that would necessitate the demolition of dozens of Arab and Islamic buildings in Silwan.
The Foundation in conclusion asked the Arab and Islamic rulers and ruled to immediately act to halt the “plan of sabotage” and pointed out that it had warned in late 2004 after part of the Magharba gate collapsed due to Zionist excavations that the IOA would demolish this road.
