An Amnesty International delegation visited on Wednesday a sit-in tent that has been pitched for 11 consecutive days in Ramallah city by Palestinian ex-detainees in protest at the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) decision to cut their salaries.
The PIC reporter said that the delegation met the ex-detainees and received full explanations on the issue.
The PA security forces had stormed the sit-in tent erected in front of the PA government’s headquarter on Saturday and ordered the ex-detainees to remove it but they refused.
The sit-in is widely-supported by the Palestinians and human rights organizations that provided testimonies on what the ex-detainees are subjected to.
In the same context social media activists have launched a popular campaign to support the ex-detainees’ demands.
