GAZA (PIC)– Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas and the head of Hamas political bureau o Khaled Mishaal accepted an invitation by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia to meet on Tuesday in Makka.
The Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal called both President Abbas and Khaled Mishaal late on Thursday night to confirm the invitation by King Abdullah.
Both agreed in principle to the meeting which will be attended by King Abdullah in person.
Abbas told reporters in the West Bank that he was waiting to receive a formal invitation from the Saudi authorities with a date for the meeting.
The aim of the meeting is to find common grounds to prevent the Palestinians from falling into civil war.
