GAZA (PIC)– PA chief Mahmoud Abbas has decided to restructure the national security council in the PA and appointed Fatah MP Mohammed Dahalan as national security advisor.
Nabil Abu Rudaina the spokesman of Abbas confirmed the news adding that Abbas would issue two presidential edicts in this regard and names of the council members will be revealed later.
According to Abu Rudaina the council will tackle and decide on all issues concerning security matters in the PA-run lands.
However the presidential spokesman expressed disappointment over the USA and Israeli stands to boycott the PA unity government and to maintain economic sanctions on the Palestinian people.
“The American and Israeli stands don’t meet Arab and Palestinian ambitions and therefore they got to rethink their stands and to deal with the PA unity government being a Palestinian and Arab choice” Abu Rudaina elaborated.
Earlier spokesman of Hamas Movement in Gaza Strip Ismail Redwan pointed out that the council comprises Abbas PA premier Ismail Haneyya PA interior minister Hani Al-Kawasmi and PA information minister Dr. Mustafa Al-Barghouthi.
He also explained that the PA security apparatuses will be overhauled and restructured away from factional or partisan affiliations.
