Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has cut off the financial allocations for the Palestinian Prisoner Society which is concerned with the issue of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails for unreleased reasons.
Quds Press quoted sources affiliated with the Society as saying that all of the payments have been halted including salaries of lawyers and employees as well as other payments for the headquarters. The salary cut-off has been done without a prior notice the sources added.
The administrative staff of the Society started contacting all concerned parties in order to intervene for the sake of cancelling Abbas’s decision.
Quds Press revealed that the Society preferred not talk about the matter to the media as efforts are being exerted through talks with Fatah Movement Central Committee and the PLO Executive Committee for the sake of cancelling the decision.
