Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas arrived on Tuesday evening in the Saudi capital Riyadh on a short official short visit to meet with the monarch and senior officials.
This will be the second official visit paid by Abbas to Saudi Arabia within 40 days.
According to WAFA news agency deputy governor of Riyadh Mohamed Al Saud and foreign minister Adel al-Jubeir received the president upon his arrival at King Salman Airbase.
Later Abbas and Jubeir held a meeting to discuss US president Donald Trump’s recognition of Occupied Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and the possible ways to respond to such step.
The president is expected to meet on Wednesday with Saudi King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
