NAZARETH (PIC)– PA chief Mahmoud Abbas is to meet with Israeli premier Ehud Olmert in Egypt next week the announcement came shortly after Abbas affirmed that he would not meet with Hamas.
Yasser Abed Rabbo the PLO secretary said that preparations were underway for the meeting in the presence of Egyptian president and Jordanian monarch.
He explained that the discussions should deal with the entire Middle East peace process and establishment of the Palestinian state in addition to the Israeli occupation’s violations of Palestinian rights.
He noted that Abbas had recently asked US president George Bush in a telephone conversation that Palestinian-Israeli negotiations should proceed under international supervision.
For his part Osama Hamdan the Hamas representative in Lebanon said that Abbas was refusing talks with Hamas due to American and Zionist pressures affirming that Hamas was keen on having talks with Fatah faction.
