Abbas to meet Olmert soon although IOF troops killed 50 Palestinians

Wednesday 30-May-2007

RAMALLAH (PIC)– Although the incessant IOF troops’ military aggressions have reaped the lives of more than 50 Palestinian citizens and wounded hundreds others PA chief Mahmoud Abbas is scheduled to meet with Israeli premier Ehud Olmert soon sources close to Abbas confirmed.

Both Abbas and director of Olmert’s office confirmed the meeting.  Abbas confirmed the meeting after he concluded talks with the visiting EU parliament speaker in his Ramallah office.

According to the sources the meeting will discuss Abbas’ plan to achieve clam in Gaza Strip first before extending it to cover the West Bank a month later.

However the meeting comes amidst intensive Israeli bombardment of Palestinian homes and infrastructure in Gaza Strip that killed and wounded hundreds of Gazans within two weeks.

In an emergency session of the Israeli mini-security council Israeli cabinet members shrugged off calls for clam and urged the army to intensify shelling of the tiny and densely populated Strip.

Israeli minister Ze’eve Boim for his part urged the outright rejection of Abbas call for calm describing it as “PA ruse”.

Israeli cabinet members have even invited the IOF troops to target Palestinian political leaders of the Palestinian resistance factions altogether.

In the light of the “stubborn” Israeli rejection of the truce Hamas Movement and its armed wing the Qassam Brigades pledged not to answer any call for claming down unless the clam was reciprocal and covers the West Bank and not Gaza Strip only.

“We are still steadfast on our position that we will not give gratis truce to the occupation unless it stops its brutal atrocities against the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip” said Abu Obaida the QB spokesman.

Sdeort on the verge of collapse:
Israeli minister of industry and commerce Eli Yashay for his part warned that economy of the Israeli settlement of Sdeort was on the brink of collapse as a result of the Qassam missile attacks on the colony.

He said that factories and commercial stores have sealed off their doors and workers refrained from reporting to their workplaces on fears they might be hit with the rockets.

The PA economy was strangled by the economic blockade that was imposed on the Palestinian people by Israel the USA and their international and regional allies since March last year.

The latest wave of military aggressions was spurred by the IOA rejection to halt atrocities against Palestinian West Bankers although Palestinian resistance factions remained adherent to the clam they had given few months ago on Abbas’ request.
