Abrash criticizes international silence over ongoing Israeli aggression

DAMASCUS (PIC)– Mahmoud Al-Abrash the Syrian parliament speaker criticized on Wednesday the international silence towards the daily suffering of the Palestinian people as a result of Israeli aggression and siege.

The Syrian people have organized a fundraising campaign to support and assist the Palestinian people “But unfortunately they could not transfer the assistance so far due to the (Israeli) blockade” Abrash stated during a meeting with a visiting Palestinian parliamentary delegation in his office.

The Palestinian deputies for their part briefed Abrash on the Palestinians’ suffering in the light of the continuous Israeli aggression and the unjust Western economic blockade imposed on them praising the Syrian positions in support of the Palestinian steadfastness.

The IOA is still detaining one third of the legislative council’s members including the council’s speaker and a number of ministers MP Abdel Rahman Zeidan said calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take immediate action towards releasing them.

For her part MP Samira Al-Halaika talked about Palestinian prisoners and detainees in Israeli prisons indicating that they numbered more than 12000 prisoners among them 1000 patients and 130 women incarcerated in harsh detention conditions.

She also highlighted that the IOF troops killed during the Aqsa intifada 5056 Palestinians including 860 children and wounded tens of thousands others.
